Self-Reliance.

self reliance
Self-reliance is defined as relying on oneself or one's own efforts and abilities rather than those exerted or supplied by other people.

Self-reliance is the ability, commitment, and effort to provide the spiritual and temporal necessities of life for self and family. As members become self-reliant, they are also better able to serve and care for others.
When Church members are doing all they can to provide for themselves but cannot meet their basic needs, generally they should first turn to their families for help. When this is not sufficient or feasible, the Church stands ready to help.

Some Principles of Self-Reliance
Exercise Faith in Jesus Christ
Use Time Wisely
Be Obedient
Solve Problems
Become One, Work Together etc.
When we are self-relient,we use the blessings and abilities God and given us to care for overselves and our families find solution to our own problems. As we become self-relitent, we are  also better to serve and care for others.

self reliance
“I care for myself. The more solitary, the more friendless, the more unsustained I am, the more I will respect myself.”
“It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude.”
It's simply unrealistic to depend on secrecy for security in computer software. You may be able to keep the exact workings of the program out of general circulation, but can you prevent the code from being reverse-engineered by serious opponents? Probably not. The secret to strong security: less reliance on secrets.

Faith is the complete reliance on the power and goodness of Spirit and the firm belief that you are always connected to this goodness. Always affirm your faith and not your doubt.
We invite you to diligently study and apply them and teach them to your family. As you do, your life will be blessed. You will learn how to act on your path toward greater self-reliance.
